[comp.lang.smalltalk] Questions about Smalltalk/V

blau@cs.ucf.edu (Brian Blau) (03/04/91)

I have a few questions about Smalltalk/V. Not being a ST/V user, I hope these
questions are not to basic. These questions pertain to the versions
Smalltalk/V 286 and Smalltalk/V Windows :

1. Does ST/V have support for putting menus on both the standard windows
menu bar and floating menus. I am mostly familiar with Smalltalk-80's
floating windows. I quess my real question is does ST/V have this floating
windows in all versions?

2. Is there any kind of support for animation?

3. Does programming ST/V Windows require knowledge of the Software
Developers Kit (SDK). From what I understand, to access the windows from
many other programming languages, SDK functions must be used. Is this
true to ST/V?

If the answers to these questions are interesting, please post here,
otherwise please send e-mail directly to me @ blau@psarc1.ist.ucf.edu.

Thanks in advance,
