[comp.lang.smalltalk] Smalltalk 80 for 386/25

mwizard@eecs.cs.pdx.edu (Craig Nelson) (03/01/91)

Someone told me in an Object-Oriented Programming class I recently
too at my university that Smalltalk 80 was avilable for a DOS box in 386
protected mode. I know it will eventually come from Parc Place, but could
someone clue me in as to where to buy it ? Also heard about a rather large
educational discount for students ?

I bought mine through the university computer store. I have version 2.5
and I paid Can$232.00 (taxes included).

Version 4.00 stands at US$320.00 (this I saw in this newsgroup). I do not
see any advantage for myself in upgrading, so I have no idea what is
the Canadian price.
