Well gang, the folks at AIP are issuing discs at a rate soon to exceed the purchasing power of mere mortals: (Various Artists)--Pebbles Vol. 13--AIP I haven't had a chance to hear this one yet, but reports are that it once again lives up to the standards set by the first twelve volumes. I am a bit disapointed with the cover graphics. (Various Artists)--Highs in the Mid-60's Vol. 8: The South--AIP An exceptionally good volume in the HitM-60's series. Well worth seeking out. (Various Artists)--Highs in the Mid-60's Vol. 9: Ohio--AIP Another excellent release from the master archivers. Not as full of 1st class material as volume 8 (or some of the earlier releases in the series), but still worthy of the HitM-60's title. Overall it's getting very hard to keep up with these compilations. With the 13 volumes of Pebbles, 9 of Highs in the Mid-60's, 2 of Electric Sugar Cube Flashbacks, 2 of Ugly Things, 2 of Battle of the Garages, and on and on and on... they're all starting to melt together. When you look at what Highs has actually covered--or more accurately, what they haven't--you can see this series is going to go on for quite some time. Obvious omissions so far: Boston, New York, San Francisco, Texas (at least three volumes). ... uw-june!eli
