In the "personalities" column of the Washington Post (hey I only look at it because they put DOONESBURY under it) today (Wednesday Feb 12) was the following item: "Former Dallas Times Herald columnist JOHN BLOOM, author of the "Joe Bob Goes to the Dirve-In" column, has filed a lawsuit against the newspaper and the Los Angeles Times Syndicate, seeking at least $900,000. He is claiming they cost him thousands of dollars by discontinuing his column and cancelling its nationwide distribution..." I thought that people might be interested in this. I've been wondering for a long time when they were going to cancel his column. The humor was really bad. The language was particularly offensive. Sure, the first time I read his review/column it was funny, but after 4 weeks of the same stuff... Well you get the picture, and to top it all off, at the end of his reviews he would have this nonsense Q&A sessions which typically were of the form: "Joe Bob, you are such a babe, I want to marry you" Signed Lonely in Dallas ()()()() Dear Lonely in Dallas, Sorry I'm busy. Signed Job Bob. Was anyone else out there particularly annoyed by this column? Good Riddance. Nick
