Two of our local TV stations have been having a battle of the late-nite 60's motorcyle gang films. It got me to wondering just how many of these are out there. So far I've got, Hell's Angels '69 Hell's Angels Forever The Hellcats Angels from Hell The Mini-Skirt Mob These films are typically shot in the Great California Valley, with some actual gang members (Hell's Angels, Gypsy Jokers, etc.) in supporting roles. The stars are generally no-names, and the soundtrack usually features also-rans (though the Peanut Butter Conspiracy and the Lollipop Shoppe have made soundtrack appearances in some). Hell's Angels leader Sonny Barger was a story consultant on many of these. While I'm at it, I'd also like to compile a list of 60's "culture" films like The Trip, Riot On Sunset Strip, The Hippie Temptation, The Cool Ones (starring Roddie "Just blow, B-L-O, blow" McDowell), Head, Easy Rider, etc. Please send any titles (and any relevant info like stars, soundtrack bands, etc.)... I'll post, mutilate & summarize. ... gt

This one blew me away in 1967 at the Rochester N.H. Drive-In. There is nothing to compare with sitting in your brand new '67 Bug with the sunroof open on a hot summer evening dreaming about escaping from a dull job, dull friends, dull marriage, DULL DULL Rochester New Hampshire and biking around the Promised Land of Southern Cal. with Jack Nicholson and a bunch of thoroughly no good but vitally alive cohorts Now I'm trying to figure out how to get back. -- richard currier marine physical lab u.c. san diego {ihnp4|decvax|akgua|dcdwest|ucbvax} !sdcsvax!mplvax!rec

Well, no one has mentioned my all time favorite. PSYCHOMANIA: About motorcycle gangs members who kill themselves so they can come back from the dead and be immortal. Note: The first one to do this is buried won his motorcycle and when he comes back, he bursts out of the grave roaring on his cycle. Sound familiar? Sure is, it's the cover on MeatLoaf's _Bat_Out_Of_Hell_. (Did I underline right?) Definate a worth-see if you have a sense of humor and like Ed Wood, Jr films! Anyone see this film? Anyone like Ed Wood films? Anyone a Tor Johnson fan? That'sa me! "I shot a cop. So what!" ------- Michael S.
