I received the upgrade to Macintosh Allegro Common Lisp, installed it and compiled, ran and tested all the programs I used before with version 1.2.2. I haven't received any release notes (called APDA and was told that they forgot to include them as well as the binder) so I wasn't sure what are the changes from previous versions. I have one question though that might interest others. I am working with a very large program, about 1.4 MD of source code. With version 1.2.2, I had to break the code into three parts in order to compile it. The compiler wouldn't do it otherwise. In version 1.3 the compiler is able to compile the whole thing in one piece. My question is what has changed? Was the compiler rewritten from the bottom up? Are the internal tables larger in size? I am very courious to know. If there are other internal changes that are not related, please let us know, whoever is reading this at Apple. I have no other way to ask those questions and have them answered and I am not a developer, partner or have any other title related to APDA. Thanks. ============================================================================= Arie Covrigaru | Internet: arie@eecs.umich.edu University of Michigan AI Lab | 1101 Beal Ave., Ann Arbor, MI 48109 =============================================================================
