Skip, this is a remarkable and fascinating list, and I thank you for  
sharing it with us, but you are dead wrong about the "primitive
cultures" line in _Animal_House_.  When the date says that line,
they are in the black bar, and directly after the line, the camera
cuts to Otis Day doing his "Boogaloo" on stage and the backups
swaying in a quite Sixties Soul sort of way.  I have never had
any doubt that the line was one of the slew of racist/sexist/etc.
jibes the film, hilarious and a classic though it may be, is
condemnable for.

But gee; I didn't even know Landis had done so many films that I
like.  _American_Werewolf_In_London, especially, is one of my
favorite horror flicks of all time.  Interesting.  But why the
connection between Landis and "See you next Wednesday?"  Did he
have anything to do with 2001, or has he merely appropriated the
line as his own personal fetish?
