[comp.lang.lisp] Pick a LISP

delaney@xn.ll.mit.edu (John R. Delaney) (11/29/90)

That is waht my boss said. He wants me to pick LISP to run on the ULTRIX
machines he is buying. According to DEC's catalog, the choices are:

Allegro Common LISP
IBUKI Common LISP
LUCID Common LISP
VAX LISP/ULTRIX

The choice criteria are:

Reliability (i.e., lack of bugs)
Adherence to Common LISP standard (to support portability)
Adherence to a "standard" X windows interface (portability again)
Convenient debugging tools (ideally, those on a LISP machine)

I think the last point means support for CLX but I am not sure. I have
been living in the LISP machine world for 5 years now and am out of
touch with the rest of the LISP world.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

John
