[comp.lang.lisp] MACSYMA: Can you make a power series of diff ops?

I'd appreciate if any one can help me on this:

I would like to define an algebraic expression of
an operator.  For example, a power series of
differentiation operators is very useful.
Is this possible in MACSYMA (or any other symbolic
math programs)?
