Can anyone help me identify the following book or story: There were two worlds - on one world (Earth?), someone designed a heat pump which tapped an unknown source of energy from the universe. The other world was populated by beings who were differentiated into three entities - emoters, reasoners & tactiles(?). Together they form a triad, in which form they can reproduce and are complete. It turns out, of course, that their planet is in jeopard because somehow they are losing their energy (the heat pump from earth is draining their planet.) One of the three of a triad - either an emoter or a tactile - begins feeling strange and starts acting like a reasoner. Can't remember where it all leads to, - in fact, looking this over, it seems pretty sketchy. However, any help recalling the title (& author) will be appreciated. ihuxv!smann
