Let me warn all of you who are so anxious to see the TV version -
it is not that good. In fact, most of the episodes are downright bad.

If you want to remember the HHG as a good series, keep the radio series
in your mind, since it was the best. The TV adds almost nothing to the
radio series, and the radio actors who play the TV series have no knowledge
of TV acting. Mark Wing-Davy as Zephod is horribly bad.

The TV series does have some high-points though. Episodes 1, 6 and 7 or
the best (they did 7 episodes instead of the 6 the radio took for the first
half)
Peter Davison (The new Doctor Who) does a good performance as the
"Dish of the Day" at the Restaurant at the End of the Universe.
The special effects are ok, although nothing to write home about and the
acting is in general bad. The actor who plays Ford is a real TV actor,
and he is the high point of the acting, especially in the first episode.

Marvin is done terribly, and even the voice of Peter Jones doesn't seem as
good, even though it is some of the very same stuff he is reading.

I have seen them all now, and wish they had done a better job. Even Douglas
Adams felt that ABC would have done a better job.
