[net.sf-lovers] Science Fiction and Fantasy

Personally, I like them both. However, i can not understand how you
can equate "respect for spiritual things, for 'faith, hope, and love'" found
in *some* fantasy with the atheist writings in SF. In "Camber of Culdi" by
Kurtz is some of the most violent and blasphemous material i have seen. The
"sword and sex" type fantasies are far more amoral than anything i have seen
by Asimov or Heinlein ... I think that in general i have seen mode things done
for the reason that it is "good" or "right" is SF then fantasy. Try reading
E.E. (doc) Smith's series, or Biel, or Clark's "Rendezvous wtih Rama", or
Ursala LeGuin for SF that deals with "good".

P.S. Good vs Evil is a basic precept in all spiritualism.
