I was asked to post summary about the current status of C++ on the Macintosh, so here goes. It seems that many people suspect/feel(/know?) that Macintosh Programmer's Workshop 3.0 will have C++ support. I'd certainly like to find out more about this, since the info I do have is sketchy....and if I missed all the discussion because I've only recently started reading the comp.sys.mac.programmer and comp.sys.mac newsgroups, could someone please e-mail me a summary of things like availability, cost, etc? I'd really appreciate it. On the A/UX side, I'm aware of a port of AT&T's cfront 1.? to A/UX by a company called Oasys. We were looking at their version of C++ for some 3B2's here at work and I happened to note that they have an A/UX port. I have no idea if there are other companies with ports. I wouldn't be surprised, and I'm not trying to slight any company, although Oasys claimed to be the only company with an A/UX ported C++. If there are others, I'd like to know about them (sure, send me your flyers... :-). I'd love to learn more... Disclaimers: I have no affiliation with Oasys and have never worked with any of their software. I have no affiliation with Apple (though I have worked with their software :-). Brian R.
