[comp.lang.c++] c++ on parallel machines?

douglas@bcsaic.UUCP (11/21/86)

I am interested in any thoughts or observations that people have on
using C++ on parallel machines, particularly the Butterfly, which we
have access to.

What issues would arise and what could we hope to gain? Has this been
done?

Sorry for the open-endedness of this request but it seems to be early
in my brain this morning.

I would to hear from people who are using c++ as development language in
their parallel machines(muticomputer,vector machines, etc). I think c++
is great way to program these machines ( recently, I wrote vector/matrix
class for vector processor in our Symult 2010 machine, I can now program
these machines only with knowing vectors and matrixes without knowledge
of machine internals). I would love to find more about other types of
classes/libraries built on top of the c++ in areas of parallel simulation,
language support, etc.
