Hello, After failing to install ATT C++ 1.21 on the Stellar, I've moved on to try my luck on a SUN 3/280. But, on that machine I've only a little more luck. Here's my problem: 0) I install the bsd.fix. 1) I can make scratch and I indeed get a cfront, munch and libC.a which basically work. 2) I compile any program and I get a memory fault error from, I conjecture, the loader ld. I assume so, because compiling a C++ program with the -c switch produces a .o file and no error. Thus, what on earth is a memory fault. Note that my memory limits are unlimited (I checked with limit). 3) Making the real compiler from the bootstrap produces a cfront that hangs, but doesn't crash (no errors, just hangs.) 4) I have installed a patch that circumvents load errors when trying to access location 0 in the files expand.c and expand..c. Can anyone who has C++ running on the SUN please help me out. I need to get this software running on some machine that is faster than a MicroVAX II. thanks 1E06, ...Martin ====================================================================== Martin J.
