I am looking for a method of supporting multiple simultaneous threads of execution within a single C++ program that uses an X11 based interface. Typically the extra threads would be running "batch" like processes while a front thread handled user interaction. There was a reference to the distributed C++ "task" class not working with X11 a while back. Does anyone have a task package that is compatible with X11? Is there another solution? Working code would be WONDERFUL, but even hints or help in evaluating how to and how hard this will be to solve would help. I will summarize any responses to the net. Mark Swanson decvax!genrad!mas
