This brings another, old, question: if Luke's father gave Obi-wan his lightsaber to give to Luke, and Darth is Luke's father, where did Vader get his saber? I got the impression that they were fairly rare. (Maybe he saved up box tops from Crunchy Rebels cereal?) - rene

That something could have been either his light saber, his hand, or both (maybe they were fused together??).
