[comp.lang.c++] paper query

Has there being papers published about reference counting or garbage
collection specifically for the C++ language?

Please mail me the references if you know any.

I have come up with a design that simplifies the creation of reference
counted classes.  So I want to know if this has been done before.  I might
be able to do garbage collection, but some technical details I have not
worked out yet.
