This is the first time I am posting to this news group. If what I am
looking for has already been discussed in the past, I'd appreciate any
pointers to where to get hold of that information (news archives, etc.).
I am working on compiling information comparing features of C++, Objective-C,
and Eiffel. In particular I need information about
- design philosophies of these languages
- learning effort required for C/Pascal programmers
- how strongly typed the languages are
- to what extent does each language support the OOP paradigm
- how mature the language is in terms of support - compiler, debugger, and
other software development tools
- how the languages compare in terms of features
- whether the language is compiled, preprocessed or interpreted
- extent of commercial applications developed in each language
- ANYTHING ELSE THAT IS MISSING IN THE ABOVE LIST
If anybody has done something similar to this in the past, I would appreciate
it if they could mail me their findings. As soon as I gather enough
information, I will post a summary to the net.
