Can anyone tell me -- can a patch version of the 2.0 translator be built for HP-UX 800 systems? (I don't have the 2.0 tape quite yet). Link editing a 1.5 Mb executable *twice* on every compile is not a thrilling experience. The Release Notes say that BSD systems can have the patch version, but I was not sure whether HP-UX for the 800's is sufficiently BSD'ish to do it. Anybody know one way or the other? You may have to do a complete rewrite of the patch tool to read the 800 object file format (which is totally different from anything that you have seen on BSD systems). ----- Shankar Unni E-Mail: Hewlett-Packard California Language Lab.
