OK, consider this... Lucas says the other is not someone we have seen in the first two movies. The keyword here is "someone". He also says ROTJ will not introduce any new characters... 'chard.

Ah HAH! If it isn't someone we have seen, and there are no new characters, then it must be the Millenium Falcon itself! Don't forget that Han had to get C3P0 to talk to the Falcon in order to learn what the trouble was after Lando didn't fix it. Therefore, there's something in there... With tongue firmly planted in cheek...
