[comp.lang.c++] c++ ld for unix 386

beser@tron.UUCP (Eric Beser) (01/12/90)

I am building up the gnu's c++ version 1.36.1 and all compiles except
for the loader (ld.c) which has defines called out in a.out.h that
do not exist on this system. I am using ESIX rev C System V, and
it has a version of a.out.h that does not contain the defines for
ZMAGIC, OMAGIC, M_386, etc.

Is it necessary to have this loader, and has anyone ported it to
unix 386 with shared libraries. I have compiled C++ with NO_GNU_LD
defined. I have successfully compiled the libg++ programs, but the
test cases do not compile? Any hints for this novice user?

I also noticed that people are refering to version 1.36.2? Where is that
release available. prep.ai only shows 1.36.1 in thier distribution.

Any help would be appreciated.
