Here's another one of my highly scientific studies of media reporting in the computer science journals. The data base contains about 60,000 computer science magazine articles from about Feb '89 to Feb '90. #articles containing the word #times the word is in the database the word searched on 5357 17254 C 4317 8086 Basic 1537 2861 structured 1450 6976 SQL 1370 ---- object oriented 966 2523 game 858 1562 assembly 806 2692 Pascal 652 1506 FORTRAN 603 1124 TV 567 1505 Cobol 486 2762 Ada 328 610 food 303 1324 C++ 145 187 sleep 78 115 sex 20 36 Eiffel As always, interpretation is left to the reader...
