[comp.lang.c++] Turbo C++ Upgrade ... Am I One Manual Short?

dsampson@x102a.harris-atd.com (sampson david 58163) (06/11/90)

I got my upgrade to Turbo C++ Professional this past Friday. I got
the spiral Turbo Assembler Quick reference guide (thanks Borland ...
that's a good touch), but didn't get a Turbo Assembler manual (i.e.
the one that tells you how to use the assembler). Was this manual
included in anyone else's shipments?

Thanks,
David

Borland posted an announcement about this today on their Compuserve
forum. Apparently the changes to the manuals from TASM 1.0 to 2.0 were
only about 10 pages, and are contained in the file UPDATE.DOC on the
disk, so new copies of the manual are not included in the upgrade.
TC 2.0 Pro owners (who have the TASM 1.0 manuals) who want the new
manuals anyway can order TC++ Pro at the special price being offered
to TC 2.0 owners, which is $25 more.

Because there was a mixup in getting the word about this to the people
who were taking the phone orders and to the tech support people on
Compuserve, Borland will send the manuals for free to people like you
who ordered the TC 2.0 Pro to TC++ Pro package expecting to get the
whole thing, if you still want them after looking over the update.doc
file. You can write to Customer Service, call their 800 number or send
a message to their customer service forum on Compuserve, including
your TASM serial number, before July 31.

Disclaimer: This is my paraphrase of the gist of Borland's official
message on Compuserve. For the exact quote, check with them.
