[comp.lang.c++] C++ Compilers for PCs

Rick.Holzer@FtCollins.NCR.com (Rick.Holzer) (06/28/90)

	I am comparing Zortech C++ Developer's Edition V2.1 to Turbo C++
Professional. In that Zortech has been out longer and has received some
pretty good reviews in the press and on the net, several people in my
office seem to prefer Zortech.

        On the other hand, I have also heard some positive
recommendations on Turbo C++, and, during the introductory period, it is
more affordable. Coincidently, my group is evaluating the upgrade to its
Zortech V1.0, and, now that Turbo C++ is out, we will be considering it
as an alternative.

I would be interested in hearing any opinions on either set of tools, or
on any other comparable tools.

It seems that, from previous discussion, Turbo C++ has stood up to some
criticism concerning its compatibility to AT&T V2.0. I have asked
Borland about coming up to V2.1, but there was no information about that
at the time. Any more recent news?

I know (from Zortech documentation) that CNS Inc. has a Class Browser.
Are there such third-party additions to Turbo C++?

When will Turbo C++ support Windows?

The introductory offer ends July 31. Please e-mail your replies (unless
you think every one else would benefit from your review).

Thanks in advance,
