I am wondering whether anyone else has heard of a book I read 20 years ago. I recall the title being MR. MURGATROYD, the title character being a gnomish type who blows out of a London fog to lead an American boy (whose father is attached to the embassy) on an assortment of adventures relating to both traditional fantasies and English mythology (one of the reappearing characters is a variant of the Green Man). Does anyone else remember this? Has anyone seen a copy for sale anywhere??
