To close out the conversation I initiated, I contacted Borland to inquire about coupons, and about future compatability with Windows 3.0 SDK. As I mentioned earlier, I was met with a very unprofessional saleslady/person. Anyway, although I was aware that Zortech carried such a compiler currently, I was not aware that it was compatable with Win3.0 SDK. To close this out...I have ordered Zortech C++. I will find out about the products quality when it arrives. As for the professionalism of their personnel, I can personally say that it was a pleasure to talk with them about their product, and hence to order it - as for Borland, I feel sorry for them. I generally think you are better off if you decide which product to buy based on how well that product will perform, not solely based on how nice the saleslady was. (If I have to choose between software that is good enough that I never need to call customer support except once a year, and then I get bad support, vs. bad software where I'm on the phone to an incredibly helpful support person every week, I'll take the good software every time.) I also think it is a mistake to judge a company as big as Borland by your experiences with one single person on one single day. (You might get someone who's mother just died or something.) -- Flint Pellett, Global Information Systems Technology, Inc. 1800 Woodfield Drive, Savoy, IL 61874 (217) 352-1165 uunet!gistdev!flint or flint@gistdev.gist.com
