[comp.lang.c++] Help needed on debugging AT&T cfront's mangled C code...

peterli@ucsfmis.ucsf.edu (Peter Li) (10/13/90)

(I apologize if this is already posted, our news server is
 a bit flakey.)

I am not a frequent reader of this newsgroup(s), so I don't
know if someone already has discussed my type of problem.

I have AT&T C++ 2.0 source, Suns, and have successfully
compiled C++ on the Suns, but debugging cfront mangled
C code is really a pain. I don't want to shell out an
additional $XXX for Sun's C++ with dbx, nor do I want to
use g++/gdb, nor do I want to buy Saber/C++. Does anyone
know of a way to effectively use dbx on mangled C object
code, or a "in-line" filter system to demangle names ?

Please reply to my mailing address, since I am infrequent reader.

Thanks,
Peter Li
