[net.sf-lovers] Dick's Best Book

arlan (02/23/83)

In my opinion, THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE was
Philip Dick's best book. It has an interesting genesis: Dick used
the I Ching to help plot the story. The story involves an SF writer
writing a story about an alternate ending to WW II, and he uses the
I Ching. When the story develops, it turns out that the parallel
world--in which German and Japan LOST WWII--is NOT our world, but
another. I Ching, YouChing, We all Ching for Ching... .
