About a week or so ago, net.sf-lovers and the Arpanet sf-lovers were
merged. Individual messages from net.sf-lovers are sent to the Arpanet
address and then included in the sf-lovers digest which is sent to the
various subscribers and fa.sf-lovers as well. The incoming Arpanet
sf-lovers messages are sent to net.sf-lovers, rather than the digest,
as had been done up until yesterday. This scheme eliminates the
redundancy noticed in the earlier digests posted to net.sf-lovers that
caused Usenet readers to see Usenet messages twice, once as separate
messages in readnews/notes and once in the digest. Now, the messages
appear only once and in individual format, enabling you to skip
messages that are of no interest, without having to scan past them to
get to interesting stuff, as is often the case with the digest.
