[net.sf-lovers] when was Star Wars written??

Is there anyone out there in net-land who can tell me EXACTLY
when the Star Wars episodes were written. I thought Lucas wrote
the first part and when it became a super money maker he decided to
make it part IV in a nine part super trilogy. Some people here at
school have told me that all nine books were written years ago
and published and then taken off the market. I find that hard to
believe but several people who I consider semi reliable have told
me this. Two people said that they knew people who said they knew
people who had these books while one person said they saw the
books at a friends house. How about it. I have several reports
about Star Wars from the net so there must be some knowledgeable
people out there. Any replies???

I would say that your friends are having a little joke at your expense.
Or else they are easily confused and when they saw the large number of
"Star Wars" books released after the movie they somehow concluded that
the books preceded the movies.
