Having just received a offer for Minix from Prentice Hall, in the mail, I was wondering what support and utilities are available. Having the source code for my home operating system is ideal, as I used to support System V.2 at work. However, I've got a couple of questions about this. 1. Does it support virtual memory on the i386 or 68020? If so, how is this performed (paging or swaping)? What type of memory management unit is required? 2. Is there a C++ compiler available for it? 3. Has anyone bothered to port Xwindows to it? 4. What type of support is there for native operating systems? For instance, how can I run MSDOS programs under Minix? -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lyndon C.
