From: Henry W. Miller <Miller at SRI-NIC> I'm sure you all caught the network release of the first Star Trek movie a couple of weeks back. I was impressed... They put back many scenes that were cut out of the original release. Several come to mind: After Kirk takes command back, and leaves the bridge, the young alien Lt. says: "But what about Cpt. Decker? He's been here since the start?" (of the refitting) Uhura replies: "Mister, our chances of coming back from this mission have just doubled..." The scene where you see Kirk suiting up to go after Spock... The scene where Spock is crying on the bridge, for V'ger's lack of emotions... The scene in the engine room, after Kirk gives the self-desttruct command, if they do not return, as a last ditch resort: Scotty: Beleive me lassie, when that much matter and ant-matter meet, it'll take that beastie along with us... There has been alot of pissing and moaning concerning the first movie; I think the TV premeier should shadow it, although I used the V'Ger flyover (still) as an excuse to use the bathroom... -HWM -------
