To make some comments on the Leprosy note. Firstly, the latest (apr ?)
issue of New Scientist in the Monitor section (I think) says that
the Norwegians are starting to test a Leprosy vaccine. There is
currently one major drug for treatment of Leprosy (I forget the name
but the article mentions it), however there has been greatly increased
resistance to the drug lately, so there is some concern about future
treatment methods. (This seems to imply that Leprosy is a bacteria
not a virus?) The matter of the disease remaining dormant seems
unclear, but one thing is well accepted, that the incubation period
of the disease if very long, approx 5 yrs, or maybe 5-10 years.

If anyone is interested I look up the articles and clarify the above
comments.
