[comp.lang.c++] Is there a GNU C++?

I am trying to ascertain if there is a GNU version of C++, available now
or reasonably soon, and if so, how could I go about getting it, so I
can port it to one of our machines?

I believe there's been a gnu version of c++ available for some time now. I
was one at the ftp site apple.com in the gnu directory. However, the
package is a really, really big file.....
    good luck.....
