From: Henry W. Miller <Miller at SRI-NIC> I can't remember the name of the episode in question, but it was the one where water on a planet had mutated into a virus like thing, and was slowly affecting the minds of the crew members. Sulu was a swordsman, Reilly locked himself in engineering and turned off the engines, Spock was in tears, etc. It unleased the secret fears and/or inhibitions of the crew. Kirk used the quote as he was trying to pull himself back together from the fear of losing his command. -HWM -------

From: Gregory Faust <FAUST%MIT-OZ@MIT-MC> Two points. First, Peter Davidson (the current Dr Who) is indeed the same actor that played Tristan in "All Creatures Great and Small". I have seen a few episodes with him in it, and have had trouble adjusting to him as the Dr. He is not bad as the Dr, it is just that I keep seeing Tristan characteristics in the Dr. For example, his interpretation seems more conceited and I as the viewer have a more difficult time believing that he is competent, etc. Second, ".. a beach to walk on . ." is certainly from a Star Trek episode, however I cannot remember which one at the moment. Greg P.S. I am a little behind in my SF-LOVERS reading. Hopefully this isn't too far behind.
