[net.sf-lovers] More on the SCA

morganr@csu-cs.UUCP (06/16/83)

Well, I promised I wouldn't make any more submissions here, but no one really
seems to mind. I just thought I'd tell anyone who was interested that I
put an article about the Outlands Coronet lists on net.misc.

I'd also like to confirm what Nicolaj and Adela said about the personas;
Karl of Godelbach is *me*, albeit in the early fifteenth century. While
I am continually trying to develop this persona historically, I am not
submerging my personality. Breifly, Karl was born in Northern France of
German parentage, and is currently being chased about Europe by the church.
(Those of you who know me from net.religion, take note.)

Another fear I'd like to quell is that of multiple personas. This is really
often the only way to be completely active in different facets of the society.
Our senescale (read: administrator, sort of), Daffyd ap Mywell is a clerk and
a scholar. One of our best fighters (in the shire) is Franc Wutenwolf, an
early French Musketeer. There is also a Ninja, Gainen, who runs about in the
dark of the night. These are all the same person, and he does quite well
with the differences. They all represent facets of his involvement. I'm
looking at a split right now, as Karl is not the type who would end up being
a Reeve. He never had a chance to settle down.

I hope this helps answer any lingering fears. Adela, I got your letter, but
I think the one I wrote you bounced back. I've got a letter in to the guy
at ucbvax about some adresses there.

In Service to the Society,

Karl of Godelbach
