Hi. I have not used C in well over 5 years, so I am looking for a good book
or two for refreshers. Since the last time I dabbled in C, dozens (at least)
of new books have been published, and I am frankly confused as to which one(s)
to buy. So if you could drop me a line with your preferences (as well as
books to avoid!) I would be very appreciative. My C is so rusty as to be
positively corroded away! :-) I've spent my last few years working in
assembler on a weird little (Qantel) mini, so my brain (or the half of it
that remains) is probably a little addled. Be kind. Thanks!

In response the query about a good C book-
I made the same query about two months ago and got many
replies all referring to the same book. I bought it and was
so pleased that I recommended it all my programming friends
who were likewise impressed. The book is:
C:A Reference Manual by S. Harbison and G. Steele,Jr
Tartan Laboratories
Prentice Hall
