[comp.lang.c] Mail clutter

PICARD%gmr.com@RELAY.CS.NET (06/02/87)

OK people. Something needs to be done about the amount of mail this
net produces. I don't have time, and I don't think I'm unique about this,
to go through two dozen mail messages every morning.

I propose we limit postings to original questions and follow ups. Any
replys should be sent to the person directly who can summarize when things
have run their course. I would hate to have to drop from the network.
Every so often some infomation comes along that is useful (to me anyway),
but I'll have to if it stays in its present form.

P.S. Any comments on my suggestion should be sent to ME. I'll summarize.

I think you better leave. This net has been like this since its
inception. There are some articles that one type of person will
respond to and then those that you like. What interests you will
not probably interest anyone else, etc. Sending mail is harder than
posting a followup. The net allows you to say your piece and move
on. If I send mail then I'd probably be less spontanious. Again
if you don't like the net, your free to leave. I can't believe
anyone would suggest that we discuss something by sending mail back
and forth. Are you a "manager"?
