Let's hear it for cranking up the classics--my favorite is playing
"Mars" from *The Planets* in the drive-in. (I don't drive, so I can't
do that often, of course...)

This piece is written to be
					played loud (during the loud
					parts, that is)

Nah, the ultimate in crankable music is either heavy metal or very loud
punk.

Many moons ago, one of the fraternities here at Dartmouth sponsored a
"Car Smash" with the money going to the Shriners' (the posters proclaimed:
"Which deserves to live? A small five year old who received serious
burns when her house caught on fire or a '65 Ford Station Wagon that gets
17 miles to the gallon?")

I can remember, when I went over to get my two cents worth in (on the car)
they were playing loud metalmusic from the windows and it was great music
to destroy a car to.
