[net.music] Bus Boys, Face to Face, and State of Shock

The Bus Boys are from LA, and have a couple of albums out. They've been
on Saturday Night Live once or twice, as Eddie Murphy is a real fan.
He had them in 48 Hrs. (the band in Vroman's bar), and also hired them
as his backing act for his latest tour. They do a couple of songs
in 48 hours, including the song that plays over the closing credits.

I think the female singer in Face to Face is named Laurie
Sargent (sp?). I've never seen the video but I think the
album Face to Face is pretty bad. Do they have anything else out?

As noted, the Bus Boys are a (mostly) black group out of LA.
Their biggest hit is probably "Minimum Wage". The album that the
song was on (called Minimum Wage R&R) was full of satrical songs
about race relations. Take for example the songs "Do You See Me?",
or "KKK". I have also seen them do a beer commercial by changing
the words of one of their songs.
