It was 311, an area code not in use, instead of the actual 408 we know and love. Now perhaps that was done on purpose (as 555 is used in TV shows), but more likely nobody bothered to look it up. The bogus area code for Sunnyvale isn't what caught me; the joke is that if you DID poll Sunnyvale looking for answering modems, about every third number would come up... =Ned=
