                            HELLO KEYBOARD PLAYERS...

hello,

Since I am the Lead VMS systems programmer I don't known much
about UNIX or other 'toy' operating systems (snicker...).
	(only kidding)

I would like to discuess the possibility of developing a
totally interactive 32 track midi digitsl recording system
on a dec pdp of dsome type. I am designing an interface to
my vax 11/780 system for kicks but its kind of hard to afford
on for my house. (maybe a microvax later).

I agree totally on the synclavier....but for that kind of
dollars im not sure if it wouldnt be more fun to keep a ski
      lodge in Austria...

What i think is a valid answer to the keyboard recording pronblem
at present is to purchase a digital recorder that interfaces with
midi and a drum machine that interfaces with midi. then buy one or
two really good boards..ie dx9 or jupiter8 or profet(

a shoet note: i relaay can spell its just
that on this terminal i cant
                                      delete a character easily....

anyway... and finally picking up 6 chap 'cheap' midi boards..
ie: rolabd 'roland' 106 or korg 800..

then you can delvelop 8 track recordings using 8
different voices on a digital system thus disposing of
analog tape and re-recording tracks due to one note slip-ups...

			anay comments ????
