Some time ago, comp.std.c was a moderated group for discussing C standardization issues. (According to the usual pattern, it fell into disuse because of the existence of the unmoderated comp.lang.c.) Earlier this year, the moderator retired from that duty; a replacement moderator was never found. I recently pointed this out to the backbone, and suggested that the group become officially unmoderated. Apparently they concurred. I intend to start posting ANSI C discussions to comp.std.c in the near future, and may redirect discussions when I followup to comp.lang.c articles; I expect others will do the same. Thus, comp.lang.c readers are invited to subscribe or unsubscribe to comp.std.c according to their interest in the matter. For some reason, the demoderation message updated /usr/lib/news/active but not /usr/lib/news/moderators at our site. You might want to check this before you try to post. Karl W. Z.
