[comp.lang.c] C graphics libraries for IBM PCs and UNIX

sears@bensun (Andrew Sears) (08/26/88)

We are in dire need of a graphics library which supports EGA, CGA, MDA, VGA,
and UNIX, VMS machines. We want to buy a commercial quality library which
supports windows, multiple fonts, colors, shapes, filling, shading etc...

We are know of such a package which supports windows (Vermont Software's
Windows for Data, and Windows for C) and runs on UNIX, or IBM - PCs. But we
are looking for a production quality library which supports graphics and
which will link with Microsoft C and Unix C.

Come on C programmers, UNIX gurus, and DOS hackers share your experience.

Try calling Visual Engineering (someplace in the bay area of CA). They make
a GKS (2D) package that I believe will work under all of the criteria you
have specified. If you can't get a phone number, I can probably find it
someplace in all of this mess...
