We are in the process of developing some of our embedded peripherial controllers in c. I have been using the INTEL C compiler (decended from Mark Williams Co.) and have not been very impressed with the generated code and execution speed. I would like info on other compilers/linkers etc that produce object code in INTEL OMF format for the 8088 family of processors. I also need to be able to specify code, data, stack addresses and lengths to the linker/locator. I know that a least one company has a set of tools that converts Microsoft object format to INTEL OMF. Is this product worthwhile? Any pointers to info on writeing non PC/ or unix programs in C would also be appreciated. This is my first attempt to produce a controller in C using very minimal assembley language routines, it works but I'd like it to be faster and smaller. I'll post results. Thanks in advance. tsnider.ncrwic!nsr-sd.sandiego.ncr.com! I believe this address has access to the pyramid gateway. Let me know if this address is rotten.
