[comp.lang.c] NAPMS

oberon@oxy.edu (Roman Kingsley Jones) (02/07/89)

    Hello,

I came across the call NAPMS, but I have no idea what it does, and
it isn't in my Man pages. Could someone please enlighten me?

					       Thank you,

Obviously it must be a "nap for yay many milliseconds" function.
Why worry about it if it doesn't exist?

It wasn't in our man pages either, but we found it in the curses
library. We have to versions also, one is nap for milliseconds and the
other is nap for microseconds.

The summary line - explains the function.

If the call is in upper case, then it probably is a macro, and you
should check your code for its definition.

For those of you who use notes, or some other news reader that doesn't
allow access to the "Summary:" line, it said

>Summary: napms -- nap for a specified number of milliseconds

[Please: if you have a one-line article, put it in the body of the

Cheap shots aren't like you... if he's trying to convert a program to
run on his system and it uses a call he doesn't have, it's *much* easier
to convert if you know what the call does.
