Microsoft C 5.1 includes a function _msize which "returns the size, in bytes, of the memory block allocated by a call to calloc, malloc, or realloc." My experience with this function is that it is unreliable. However, I don't like to accuse compiler vendors of errors before cleaning my own house, so does anyone have any information this function? If this has been hashed over before, would somebody please send me the conclusions? If it is indeed unreliable, does anyone have a replacement? Respond via email, please.
