Jeff Beck update:
Per the September issue of Guitar World, Jeff is working on a new album
(not to be confused with the recently-released "Box of Frogs", a Yardbirds
reunion of sorts), as yet untitled. It is being produced by Nile Rodgers of
Chic fame (who also produced Bowie's "Let's Dance"), and will feature a guest
shot by Tina Turner (!). Rodgers has co-written most of the material, of which
Beck says "People are gonna hear me play my ass off". Jamaaladeen Tacuma and
Fernando Saunders will be bassists. No release date yet, but I'm waiting with
much impatience.
B.T.W. - Beck pulled out of the Stewart tour, in case you hadn't heard. The
local ticket distributor (BASS) was happy to give me a refund. Says something,
eh ?
