[comp.lang.c] You cannot check ANSI compliance

afscian@violet.waterloo.edu (Anthony Scian) (08/22/89)

One facet of the proposed ANSI standard that is difficult
to verify is re-entrant functions. The proposed ANSI standard
requires that all functions have the possibility of being
re-entrant. This means that the calling convention
must be re-entrant. This applies to functions of any return types.

The various ANSI C compliance test suites cannot check for this
in a deterministic manner.
